Compression Stockings

Compression garments can aid with reducing swelling, preventing blood clots and assisting with recovery from sport/exercise. Medical grade compression socks may be advised for medical reasons, to treat conditions such as; Deep vein thrombosis (blood clots), Lymphoedema, Aching and swollen legs, Varicose veins and associated skin problems.

Compression socks (travel socks) are often worn during long haul flights to also reduce the risk factors for the above conditions, as prolonged sitting can increase your risk of DVT and swelling.

If you are interested in purchasing Compression Stockings please contact us or book an appointment and see us at one of our clinics.

How does compression therapy work?

Compression stockings gently squeeze the veins and muscles of the leg, to assist with returning the blood back to the heart. The compression is often firmest at the ankle and gradually reduces up the leg. This also helps to move fluid up the leg so it doesn’t collect around the ankles.

We stock the Sigvaris medical and travel range of compression wear in clinic.
