Onyfix - Nail Brace Solutions

Ingrown toenails and Involuted (curved) toenails are one of the more common problems we see as Podiatrists. This condition can be very painful and sometimes lead to infection if not treated correctly.

The Onyfix nail correction system is available at Sole Podiatry, and all our Podiatrists are trained in its use and application. The nail brace can be used to successfully offer a pain free solution to treat ingrown or involuted (curved) nails without the need for surgical intervention.

APPLICATION

After a thorough Podiatry treatment of your nails, the Podiatrist will adhere a small strip of putty-like resin to the base of your nail plate using specialized tools. Once the strip is at the right size and shape, it is then set firm (cured) using a UV light for a few minutes. The strip will harden so it doesn’t move.

As your nail grows in length, the strip doesn’t alter shape, thus maintaining the width of the nail as it grows and avoiding the nail from bending or curving into the side of the flesh. This should alleviate pain caused by the nail bending or pushing into the nail flesh on the side.

Your Podiatrist will advise how frequently you should have your nails reviewed and subsequent applications of Onyfix, depending on severity of your individual presentation.
